Privacy Policy

Short version: QueryBen runs on your machine. Your database credentials and query data stay on your machine. We don't have a server that receives them. The sections below explain this in the detail a legal document requires.

What QueryBen is

QueryBen is a desktop application published by Injoya LLC. It runs locally on your computer and connects directly to database servers you configure. There is no backend operated by Injoya LLC that your queries or credentials pass through.

Data processed locally on your device

The following data is processed locally on your device and is never transmitted to Injoya LLC:

Connection credentials. Hostnames, ports, usernames, and passwords you enter are stored locally using your operating system's keychain or the application's local configuration files. They are used only to establish a direct connection from your computer to your database server.

Query text and results. SQL queries you write and the result sets returned from your database server are held in memory during your session. QueryBen does not send this data to any third-party service operated by us.

Schema information. Table names, column names, and schema metadata fetched from your database are cached locally to power the schema browser.

What the queryben.com website does

queryben.com is a static website hosted on Render (render.com). When you visit, Render's infrastructure records standard access log data: your IP address, browser user-agent string, the pages you requested, and timestamps. We do not install analytics scripts or tracking pixels on this site. We do not use cookies beyond what the browser sets by default.

Render's own privacy policy governs the data their infrastructure logs. We don't receive a feed of individual visitor records from Render.

Crash reporting and telemetry

QueryBen v0.1.2 does not include automated crash reporting or usage telemetry. If a crash occurs, no data is sent anywhere automatically. If you choose to report an issue on GitHub, whatever you include in that report (screenshots, logs, error messages) is shared with us through GitHub's platform under their terms.

Children's privacy

QueryBen is a professional database client intended for use by adults in work contexts. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us at the address below and we will address it.

Data retention

Because we don't receive your application data, there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Connection configurations stored by the application live on your device and can be removed by deleting the application and its configuration files. For macOS, these are located in ~/Library/Application Support/com.injoya.queryben.

Updates to this policy

If we add features that change how data is handled (for example, if a future version adds opt-in crash reporting), we will update this policy before shipping that version and note the change in the release notes.
